Candidates are annually submitted by professional forestry organizations including current Alabama Registered Foresters to the Nomination Committee. The Nomination Committee consists of leaders from the Alabama SAF and other large Alabama forestry organizations. The nomination committee vets nominees’ qualifications in congruence with state laws and selects three qualified nominees to send to the Governor for consideration. The Governor appoints one of the nominees to the Board.
