Registered Foresters that are licensed in other professions like engineers, realtors, appraisers, surveyors, attorneys and others may take continuing education instruction within their continuing education courses that can be applied to timber, timberland and forest management. The portions of these courses that apply to professional forester can be claimed by the Registered Forester as Category 3 CFE hours. If there is instruction that would apply directly to timber, timberland and/or forest management, the Registered Forester may ask the Board for Category 1 CFE hours approval by stating the direct application of each course session to a professional forester’s educational benefit under Category 1 rules.
